Launch of Laughed Till They Cried a great success
More than 100 people were on hand on October 15 when my novel was officially launched in Kingston and by the end of the night about 170 books were sold. “Beyond our wildest expectations” was the judgment of the wonderful group of friends who organized the event at the Kingston Seniors Centre on Francis Street. People arrived early and stayed late to enjoy the festive environment created by decorations modelled after the book’s covers and colours. It was very much a reunion of old friends. Longtime friend Kathy Wood introduced the author and I had a great time explaining the trials and tribulations of my first experience in the book publishing business. For the reading I chose excerpts from a section of the book that invited listeners into a typical gathering of the Cell Sisters and the exchange of humour, ideas and opinions that characterize every one of their meetings. Two days after the launch, comments were flowing in from readers who got hooked on the story and had stayed up late or abandoned other projects to stick with the story. “I was so sad to have the book end,” said one, asking when she could expect the sequel. That’s like visiting the maternity ward and asking a new mother when to expect her next child. Never say never but it’s too early to even contemplate another book !!! Many thanks to all who have contacted me to comment on the launch and the book. Check out the photos in the Media dropdown section of this website ! Enjoy.
